Layering HTV: Personalizing Aprons

For today’s project, we are making children’s art smocks as a personalized party favor that will double as a great back to school smock! When you think about it aprons have lots of uses. They can be used for kids art classes, when cooking or even just for your average DIY project… since there are a lot of reasons that you may want to cover up your clothes you mine as well have some fun and PERSONALIZE IT with HTV!

To make your own personalized apron/smock you will need:

an Apron or a Smock
HTV
Heat Press
Cutting Machine
Computer

Here’s how to do it:

Design your cut file.
Load your HTV into your cutting machine.
Click cut.
Weed your design(s).
Arrange where you want your HTV to go. Then take everything back off.
Lay your first layer on the apron and press it with your heat press according to the instructions
Repeat the steps until you are finished
Admire your results

How To Use EasySubli with Video

A few weeks ago we introduced to you EasySubli, which is the best of both worlds in sublimation and vinyl.

If you are familiar with sublimation, you know that typically you could only sublimate on light polyester or sublimation coated products. But now thanks to EasySubli you can print directly onto EasySubli vinyl and then heat press it on a variety of light or dark fabrics such as cotton, cotton/poly blend, tri-blends, rayon, wool.

Decorating Caps & Hats: What you need to launch your business

With the weather warming up across the US, it is natural that more and more people are starting to grab their hats to shield their skin from the sun. So why not present them with a new custom option by expanding your current custom line into the hat market? Need a reason to take the plunge? In 2018 over 6,000 MILLION hats were sold in the US, and that number is expected to grow over 9% in 2019. That’s a lot of hats!!

When stocking up on hat supplies you have a few options. You can either purchase our Cap Starter Package which will include everything you need to hit the ground running.

Or you can purchase your materials a la carte. In which case you have a few more options. When it comes to Hat Presses we have 6 Cap Press Options. We carry the:
Hix Cap Press – which is considered a portable Cap Press. The press comes with 3 interchangeable platens which include a: Golf size, youth size & ball size.

TransPro Auto Open Cap Heat Press – which is suitable for printing most hats. The hydraulic automatic opening feature allows freedom to place the transfers quickly making batching large orders a breeze.

TransPro Select Quad Cap Auto Heat Press – This cap press comes with 4 plates in various sizes to fit most cap styles. This is also a semi-auto cap press, so it will open on its when the timer counts down.

Geo Knight 4×7 Cap Heat Press– a fully functional cap press for printing the front face of any sized headwear. This model has a unique hold-down device that pulls the rear strap of the headwear down against the pressing surface, holding the cap in place. The Geo Knight accepts different size interchangeable tables, but it only includes the standard in the purchase.

Maxx Cap Heat Press – is another portable cap press option. This press has a very wide opening making changing designs a breeze.

Hotronix Auto Open Cap Press – cap heat press has an easy lock and release system which is easy on your wrist and prevents over application.

We carry Siser EasyWeed Vinyl by the sheet and roll in multiple sizes. We offer a number of colors of the standard EasyWeed, fluorescent, and glitter as well as a glow in the dark vinyl. Siser EasyWeed can be peeled hot or cold and doesn’t lift during weeding. It’s extremely durable and won’t wear after numerous washings. It applies at a lower temperature setting and lower pressure than other vinyls and is also thinner making it great for layering. Siser EasyWeed Extra, Electric, Holographic, Stretch, CADflex, Siser EasyPatterns, Brick, Strip Flock, Blackboard and Metal are also available.

Chemica Firstmark is a semi matte vinyl available in multiple sizes and a number of colors that is best when applied to cotton, polyester, acrylic, and similar materials. We also offer Chemica Mirror Vinyl, which has a metallic finish, in 2 colors, Chemica Firstmark Fluorescent available in 4 colors, and Chemica Quickflex which applies in 5 seconds to cotton, polyester, acrylic, and similar fibers. It peels hot, is soft, flexible, ultrathin, and easy to weed and washes well. It comes in 16 colors. Chemica Bling Bling is an ultra-metallic “glitter-flake” vinyl perfect for cheer and team spirit apparel and it comes in 10 colors. We also offer Chemica Metallic, Chemica Fashion Vinyl, and Chemica Darklite.

There are multiple types of ThermoFlex available in assorted colors and sizes. ThermoFlex Plus Metal Flake is a highly flexible vinyl. It has small pieces of glitter within the vinyl but is smooth to the touch, and will wash and wear very well. It comes in 6 colors. We also have ThermoFlex Plus available in 38 colors, ThermoFlex Glossy, ThermoFlex Plus Neon and ThermoFlex Plus Antique. We also carry ThermoFlex Xtra which can be printed on nylon, leather, rayon and other heat sensitive materials. Check out ThermoFlex Xtra Antique, and ThermoFlex Xtra for a few color options. FashionFlex is pre-printed heat vinyl that has a textured look and feel. We offer it in zebra and camouflage. GlitterFlex Ultra Vinyl has just the right sparkle, with glitter flakes encased in it. It is a bit thicker than other vinyl’s so be sure to increase your cutting pressure accordingly. We also offer DecoFlock Premium Plus Vinyl if needing a soft, velvety felt-like feel to your garment.

Silhouette Glitter Vinyl will add a little glam to your project. These are manufactured with transfer tape already adhered and come in a number of colors.

With so many different brands, types, and sizes of vinyl available, it can be hard to decide which is best for your project. Step 1 – Design your image

Step 4 – Weed the design

Step 5 – Apply it to your garment with the pattern facing up, with the carrier sheet still attached.
