Decorate A Christmas Ornament With Sublimation and Adhesive Vinyl

Tis’ the season for custom gifts! Well, it’s the start of the season at least. Today we are helping you jumpstart your custom gift list and show you how we used a sublimation ornament blank 2 ways!

2 ways to decorate a christmas ornament

To sublimate your ornament, you need:
Computer
Ornament Sublimation Blank
Sublimation Printer
Heat Press
Teflon Sheet
White Sheet of paper
Gloves
To sublimate the ornament here is how:
1. Design your ornament with your sublimation software.
Capture
2. Print it out.

3. Warm your heat press to 400 degrees.
4. Tape your paper to the ornament.

4. Place your ornament down with the paper on top and your Teflon sheet on top of that. Keep it pressed for 60 seconds.
5. Lift off the paper.
6. Hang it on your tree.

To decorate your ornament with adhesive vinyl you need:
Computer
Ornament Blank
Vinyl Cutter
Adhesive Transfer Tape
Weeder
Scraper
To decorate your ornament with adhesive vinyl you need to:
1 – Design your decal with your cutting program
2- Cut your design on adhesive vinyl

3 – Weed your design

4 – Apply the transfer tape to your design
5 – Carefully lift the transfer tape off of the adhesive vinyl backing
6 – Apply your design to your ornament blank

Personalize a Stuffed Animal with HTV

Are you looking for a cute, new way to spread the holiday cheer this year? How about with a personalized stuffed animal? Scroll down to see what you need and how to make them in less than 5 minutes!

You Need:

Here’s How To Make It:

1 – Design your name in your cutting software, and don’t forget to mirror your design.

2 – Insert your heat transfer vinyl and click cut.

3 – Weed your design.

4 – Place it on your stuffed animal.

5 – Lay it on your heat-press but cover the NON-HTV area with your silicone pad.

6 – When you press your design, you will want to press it for a few seconds at a time and check it so that you do not melt the fur. We pressed in 2-3 seconds, increments for about 15 seconds total.

Sublimate onto Cotton & Cotton/Poly with EasySubli

Looking for a new technique to create with your sublimation printer? Try EasySubli!

If you are familiar with sublimation, you know that before EasySubli you were only able to sublimate onto light polyester or sublimation coated products. But thanks to EasySubli, you can print directly onto EasySubli vinyl and then heat press it on a variety of light or dark fabrics such as cotton, cotton/poly blend, tri-blends, rayon, wool!!

What’s a Heat Transfer?

Heat Transfers are images on a transfer release paper that allow you to produce quality items quickly. Here at Pro World, we sell thousands of heat transfers! You can purchase screen printed transfers, rhinestone/sequins transfers, glitter transfers, solar transfers, glow in the dark transfers, mixed media and you can even design your custom heat transfers!

How do you use a Heat Transfer?

1 – Peel the back off (if it has one)

2 – Lay it on your garment

3 – Press the heat transfer onto your garment with your heat press according to the instructions (which can be found online)

Adhesive Vinyl Tips, Tricks & Pro World Products

Regardless if you are new to cutting machines or are a seasoned pro we thought it would be fun to round up all of our ADHESIVE VINYL TIPS & PRODUCTS in one place to help make your life easier! Just pin this post so you can find it in the future!

Let’s start with some basic tips, shall we? 

  • ALWAYS test cut your design to make sure that it is cutting as it should!
  • When it comes to cutting adhesive vinyl, you want to cut with the colored vinyl side up.
  • Want to cut multiple images of the same design with your Silhouette? Use the fill page button.

Now here are some adhesive vinyl tips that you may not know!

  • Place a rectangle around your image before cutting to help you weed your design.
  • If you have an intricate design slow down your cutting speed.
  • When cutting multiple types or colors of vinyl on our Silhouette Machine, you can cut by the color of your design fill instead of selecting & deselecting cut lines. 
  • When layering adhesive vinyl use guides to help line up where the vinyl goes. You can do this by adding small rectangles to the outside of your project. Line up the rectangles, and your image is as it should be.
  • Occasionally the adhesive vinyl won’t stick to a surface because of the way that it was treated. You can usually make it stick by spraying an adhesive spray onto the hard surface.
